About the InfiniteRonPaul.com web site
This web site is NOT officially affiliated with Dr. Ron Paul's campaign for president, but instead represents the efforts of a private US company -- WLMUnderhill, LLC -- to provide resources (some free, some for sale via affiliates) but both designed to assist Ron Paul supporters in promoting his candidacy by their own grassroots efforts.
A Note on Advertising and Amazon product offerings
In its initial concept, this web site was not designed to feature any advertising or sell any products through affiliates, but merely to provide the PDF downloads. As such, it was NOT designed to "profiteer" on Ron Paul's efforts and massive popularity (indeed, the most useful and costly portion of this web site's resources is provided completely FREE of charge).
However, we ask you to keep in mind that there were costs associated with the creation and testing this site and the concepts it contains. Also, because we hope and expect this site to become increasingly popular over a short period of time, we have extended our best efforts to create a robust site, and to pay for it to be hosted by a solid set of web-servers that (fingers-crossed) should be able to handle the anticipated traffic load; all of which result in both initial and ongoing monthly costs.
Additionally, since these costs must be paid for -- else there would be no web site -- they must be covered and "owned" by some person or entity. If this were done via a non-profit operation, it would legally be required to file incorporation, non-profit status and other FEC papers, and would probably have cost even more to setup (and certainly would have taken longer to create). The other option was for it to be run by a for-profit enterprise which, if in providing the free service (like a TV or radio station), is doing so for the purpose of making money on associated advertising revenues or profits on product sales and commissions, is free from such entanglements.
So, as a result, much like other sites on the internet (LewRockwell, DailyPaul, and Ron Paul at MeetUp.com), or sites which sell campaign related materials such as yard signs, t-shirts, buttons and bumper stickers, it is run as a for profit site, which derives its revenues from advertising and the sales of appropriate items through our affiliate, Amazon, com. However, much like services such as Google and YouTube, we have chosen to make the resources that this site provides to individual users available free of charge, with the expectation that a certain percentage of users will find either the advertising or the affiliated product links to be useful enough that they will take advantage of these offers, resulting in a small amount of commission revenue to pay for the site's continued operations (and with the remote, but admitted hoped for possibility of a small profit in exchange for our capitol investment of cash and many hours work).
Finally, we believe the links to the Avery labels (and the "recommended" printers) via Amazon truly ARE a service that users will want to take advantage of. Alas, when it comes to self-adhesive mailing and ID labels there is a rather dizzying array of them, and it took a significant amount of work to identify the appropriate products that came with the (strongly recommended) removable adhesive backing. Likewise we have chosen to include two color printers that we believe are the "best value" in their categories for this and similar intended uses, and yet in which we have confidence of their general quality (because we own and use or have owned and used these specific products or one's very similar and from the same companies, and have had good experiences with them. Alas, we are aware that "Your Mileage May Vary", but there is no evil intent here.
A Further Note on AVERY products and the AVERY label template numbers present on this site
No, we are NOT owned by Avery, nor are we affiliated with Avery products (other than through "affiliate sales" via the Amazon links provided in the sidebar).
And yes, we are well aware that other brands of label products are available, and that users may already own or desire to purchase and use such non-Avery products. We think that is a wonderful idea! Indeed, we would have included links to buy other brands as well if we had found a good mechanism to do so.
We have chosen to use the Avery label template numbers because they are the "industry-standard" and most other label manufacturers have cross-reference charts (or information directly on their packaging) that reference the Avery label template numbers, making it the most convenient for the largest number of potential users.
Why recommend REMOVABLE labels when they are more expensive?
To begin with, they really are not that much more expensive, perhaps a dollar or two per package.
The value we see in the removable labels is well worth the cost, and we believe we have explained this thoroughly on the "Welcome" page and in the references that say "Be COURTEOUS... Be KIND..."; but if you haven't gotten the point yet -- then let us elaborate on it one more time: WE WANT PEOPLE'S RESPECT for Ron Paul's campaign. In order to EARN that respect, we feel it is first necessary to GIVE that respect as far as we are able to.
Now the "heart" of this campaign idea could be easily misconstrued as "graffiti" or "defacing property" and as such could subject the people who post such stickers to misdemeanor charge. We believe this possibility can be greatly reduced (if not entirely eliminated) -- if the people who post such stickers will use ONLY the REMOVABLE stickers. Why? Well, since these REMOVABLE labels and glue sticks leave no discernable adhesive residue, and can be easily removed, they cannot be construed as defacing, damaging, or even discoloring property -- certainly not any more than placing a 3M "Post-It" note would. By taking the extra step of specifically using the removable materials, it should not only eliminate or significantly reduce the possibility of problems, but also hopefully earn the direct respect of the local authorities and just as importantly, the respect (at least grudgingly given) of those people who will in the course of their jobs need to "remove" the labels.
